The exhibition includes works by one hundred artists spanning three centuries, beginning with Edgar Degas’s Étude pour Alexandre et Bucéphale (c. 1859–60), a study for a painting at the National Gallery in Washington, DC, and ending with a graphite drawing by Jasper Johns completed earlier this year.

One hundred drawings celebrates the medium of drawing with works in every possible style and technique by a wide range of artists, including Aubrey Beardsley, Joan Brown, Paul Cadmus, Joseph Cornell, Barkley Hendricks, Hannah Höch, Ray Johnson, Donald Judd, Norman Lewis, Sarah Lucas, Henri Michaux, Bruce Nauman, Georgia O’Keeffe, Laura Owens, Jackson Pollock, Martin Puryear, Niki de Saint Phalle, Florine Stettheimer, Paul Thek, Anne Truitt, and many others.
