From Tokyo, Japan, MEDEL GALLERY SHU presents an exhibition featuring traditional Japanese craftsmanship recreated into modern art. Many exhibitions that feature cultural art of Japan usually only features the traditional view. However, through the years, the cultural art continues to evolve to the modern days while retaining the traditional techniques passed down for generations.
We will be featuring renowned artists & craftsmen from Japan to continue the legacy of delivering the traditional “Soul of Japan” (Wagokoro) through their collections using obi from kimono, bamboo charcoal art, chabako (tea box), incense, fiber arts, flower arrangements, and more.
