Eva Schlegel’s works vary from the intimate scale of some portraits, not much larger than a book page, to the grand scale of the cloudscapes. Never neglecting the precise formal aesthetic she brings to her everyday images, a domestic scene, a landscape, a cloudscape or a nude, it is in precisely this area of received visual information that she situates herself.

Jill O’Bryan shows works that are immersed in the land, that examine interaction and connection between the human body and the land, that show the breath of rocks and the artist, and how they affect each other. Ultimately, these works are about the passage of time, she said: “I’m literally archiving breaths.”
