In the Courtyard

Popel Coumou’s first outdoor light box in the US will be shown on the gallery’s courtyard. The light box is set to emulate the intensity of a sun cycle and through the cast of light and the dramatic shadows that are created through the layers of paper, which Popel uses to create the work, she is able to control the mood, setting and space creating a combination of painterly abstraction and geometric photography.
