C A R V A L H O P A R K presents It Started with a Spark.

It Started with a Spark speaks of a moment unseen. Expansive + impalpable works by Berlin-based painter Maximilian Rödel set both tone + scene for a site-specific mylar installation by New York artist Grace Villamil.

The atmosphere in the gallery becomes an otherworldly one, as Rödel’s oil paintings – like colossal fragments of the stratosphere – are held here, while Villamil’s radiant terrain – of a sensitive + singular vision – attenuates rational thought, inviting the viewer to obscure + transient places.
