This event has ended.

The artists Jaouad Bentama and Boris Bernard aka Pop Shxt, met as residents at the Con Artist Collective in the Lower East Side. After Bentama began collaborating with artists for a collection of his works currently on view in Paris, the two artists decided to produce an entire body of new works together.

Jaouad Bentama was born in Paris, between two doors, Saint Ouen’s and Clignancourt’s flea and public markets. Growing up, the artist regularly found himself working along his dad selling second-hand objects. It is through this dusty and cluttered world of old artifacts that Jaouad Bentama started assembling diverting objects to create a window to an otherworldly place. In 2012 Jaouad moved to New York City to dedicate himself formally to his artistic life, surrounded by a collective of artists, his work combines painting and found objects from the his childhood.

Boris Bernard has been active in the streets of NYC since 2006. Boris has produced guerilla campaigns for Alicia Keys, Swizz Beats, and Dimepiece LA. Often working with wheatpaste and hand embellished screenprints. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, rap and graffiti, his collages express themes and narratives that both appear timeless and current.
