RE | TURNING is an exhibition of new work by Philip & Matt Moulthrop. We’ve been representing the Moulthrop family since 1986. The Moulthrops’ work resides in more than thirty prestigious museums and public collections as well as numerous private collections around the world.

The Moulthrop family has made lathe-turned wood vessels over three generations – Ed (1916-2003), Philip (1947) and Matt (1977). The Moulthrops source salvaged trees from the Southeast of the United States, where their family has lived for almost 60 years. Their timeless, modernist forms derive richness from the Moulthrops’ impeccable craftsmanship and their deep knowledge of the material.

Fellow wood-worker and a family friend, former President Jimmy Carter, said that ‘the artistry of Ed Moulthrop has been inherited – and perhaps enhanced – by his son Philip and his grandson Matt.’
