This event has ended.
For this exhibition, artist Irina Sheynfeld created a body of work that deals with the topics of entropy and chaos. Most of the paintings are meditations on topics of pollution and total destruction of nature. Ecological disaster that can be witnessed everywhere on the planet is central to her work. What will happen when nature finally rebels and strikes back in a conscious way? Will certain zones of self-aware vegetation suddenly form, a place where people will not be welcome any more? Will plants, sea-creatures, animals and the earth itself try to re-absorb us and return us to our primordial beginning? What will they keep from our world and what will that strange new land look like past the age of Anthropocene
Irina Sheynfeld received multiple awards and grants including COJECO Blueprint fellowship for her work and was written about in several publications (Forward, WhiteHot Magazine). For the past two years Sheynfeld has been a Sing for Hope artist, painting pianos that were exhibited on the streets of New York City.
