Meghan Brady “Free-Forming”
TSA
This event has ended.
Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York is pleased to present Free-Forming, an exhibition of new paintings by Meghan Brady. Brady’s recent work has shifted away from oil painting on canvas towards a process that is more flexible, temporary, and responsive. By using large sheets of paper and the studio floor as her work surface, Brady constructs monumentally-scaled shaped pieces by way of cutting, rearranging, and collaging. While responding directly to the place in which they were made, Brady’s paintings cite the affinities between ceramic vessels and the human body.
TSA is be closed for the first three weeks of April while Meghan works in the gallery space. The exhibition will open to the public on April 27 (6-9pm) when Meghan will present new pieces created during her residency. The show will remain on view during normal gallery hours through May 6th.
