This event has ended.

Since the early 1990s, many of my etchings have been inspired by the Ile Saint Louis. I have often depicted buildings on the northeast side of the island during the day or night and in different seasons.

In March 2017, while walking along the southwest side of the island, I realized that Le Quai d’ Orléans in the early spring would be a great idea for one of my future etchings.

I decided to draw one section of the street creating my composition around the 17th century stone buildings with their ornate wrought iron balconies and the lampposts along the quai. The woman walking with her dog creates the focal point of the etching.

I chose this subject for the etching to accompany the Deluxe Book because Notre Dame Cathedral is visible in the distance and is one of my favorite Parisian monuments.
