SHFAP presents PARIS/ NEW YORK/ NEXUS, an exhibition of American painters who worked in Paris and the French artists who influenced them. They were largely figurative painters who saw Paris as the center for the kind of painterly representation practiced by Matisse and Derain, along with Balthus, Giacometti and Helion. The American artists include Leland Bell, Robert De Niro Sr., Anne Harvey, Louisa Matthiasdottir, Beauford Delaney, and Bob Thompson, presented with Balthus and Jean Helion from France.
