Textiles by 5th26 & Thompson Street Studio

The woven textiles of 5th26 by Brandon Tang are transformed into pieced tapestries by Thompson Street Studio. Kiva Motnyk’s unique organic approach to materiality marries the rich quality of the hand loomed throws with many layers of texture, natural dyes, and hand work. Inspired by the much anticipated spring blooms, the bright colors of turmeric, marigold and berry invite new life and restorative energy for the home. The importance of bringing harmony between nature and the indoor spaces we reside in are complimented by the collaborative process with which these pieces were conceived.

Thompson Street Studio designs and crafts objects for the home with a focus on experimental textiles. Kiva Motnyk founded the New York based studio in 2014 to explore connections between art, industry and nature; finding joy in the serendipitous, looping process of discovery, conception and making.

5th26 is a New York and Caribbean based design studio founded by Brandon Tang in 2017. The studio designs and crafts objects for the home with a minimal and spirited aesthetic in-house and in collaboration with artisans in the U.S. and around the world.
