This event has ended.

yours mine & ours presents Home Sweet Home, a solo exhibition of new paintings with Mandy Lyn Ford.

Ford’s paintings waiver in and out of objecthood and ultimately come together as a cast of characters from her life. The lush densely built surfaces envelope Ford’s viewer into her world. In each, there’s a sense of depth, a space for one to move in and be enriched by her gestures.

The whimsy of materials—glitter, spray paint, acrylic, and oil—reflect Ford’s desire to mix the high and low, a transition that notes these paintings don’t take themselves too seriously. Similarly, the titles reflect on the distinct timeline of a generation coming of age in the 1990s and 2000s—Jolene, Lil Boo, Jailbroke, and so on. The wisps of acrylic paint, spotting like scales, and seemingly horn-shaped edges, give each of Ford’s paintings a personhood within which her viewer is invited to join.

Mandy Lyn Ford lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. She has a Bachelor of Fine Art from UCLA, Los Angeles, CA.
