Blue Mountain Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Pamela Berkeley entitled Then And Now. Included will be 30 oil-on-canvas paintings by the artist representing new works and an oeuvre spanning five decades of her career. The exhibition runs from Tuesday, November 27th to Saturday, December 22nd. There will be an opening reception and opportunity to meet the artist on Thursday, November 29th from 5 to 8 pm. Berkeley will also be at the gallery every subsequent Saturday for the duration of the show.

These works are of still lifes, landscapes, and a group of unique portrait paintings of several of the artist’s friends, including John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Isabella Rossellini and Mark Metcalf. Berkeley has been showing regularly in NYC since 1977.

Berkeley was born in Biloxi, Miss. in 1948. She grew up in rural Westchester County, N.Y. As a teenager, Berkeley attended classes at the Art Students’ League and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She enrolled at Brown University and received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.

She has received competitive grants from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, and the CAPS award from the New York State Council for the Arts.
