This event has ended.

Figurative Diaspora, curated by Peter Drake and Mark Tansey, a historically important exhibition, presents works by five Russian artists who created “unofficial” (non-state sanctioned) art in the USSR in the 1970s and 1980s, alongside works from five contemporary Chinese artists. While other exhibitions have presented Russian subversive art or Chinese art post-Cultural Revolution, Figurative Diaspora will be the first to trace the direct influence that Soviet artists and Socialist figurative art traditions have had on Chinese artists.
