This event has ended.

Anthony Philip Fine Art presents “Traversing A Different World,” a solo exhibit of recent work by Brooklyn artist Eileen Weitzman.

With “Traversing A Different World” Eileen Weitzman uses bold color, a sophisticated palette of textures and found materials, and a wry sense of humor to address complex social issues. Light and colorful, they are immediately welcoming to viewers. But her work also contains enough subtext to hint at a deeper, more deliberate raison d’etre. And always imagining, in the artist’s own words, “…a new world where imagination and wit reign supreme…”

Weitzman has developed a unique artistic voice informed as much by the old masters and traditional Asian art, as it is by conceptual art and modernism. By deftly navigating such disparate influences, she has created a body of work as instantly familiar as it is unexpected.

This is Weitzman’s first solo exhibition in Bushwick, and features paintings, sculptures and works on paper completed this year. The exhibition will continue during regular business hours through Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.

Anthony Philip Fine Art was established by husband-and-wife team Anthony Philip and Brandi Wills to introduce original works by emerging contemporary artists to the hearts and walls of collectors of all means. The gallery is located at 56 Bogart Street, Brooklyn, NY 11206. Exhibit schedule, hours and directions can be found at anthonyphilipfineart.com.
