Beneath the Same Sky : From the Rooftops of New York to Oaxaca’s Central Valley
In New York City, a movement of urban farmers has created a network of rooftop farms, built on the very buildings that once defined the city’s industrial age. In contrast, the villagers of San Bartolomé in Oaxaca, Mexico, have been growing corn, beans and squash on the same communal lands since the dawn of agriculture. Despite their differences, today’s urban farmer and indigenous villager face similar challenges coaxing food from the soil. This exhibit of paintings aims to create a visual bridge between these two distant worlds.

Cloud Storage: Memes and Graphemes
Cloud Storage is a meditative installation about the writing systems we use to tell stories and store knowledge. Captured in a transparent hanging cloud in the center of the gallery, are characters and graphemes from diverse cultures. Hieroglyphics, Runic characters, ancient Pictish graphemes, and modern English letters mix with contemporary, tech-centered memes and emojis, on transparent panels rendered in ink and paint.
