This event has ended.

The Kravets Wehby Gallery presents Hi-Res, a summer group exhibition including works by Alison Blickle, Asad Faulwell, Allison Zuckerman, Sydney Chastain-Chapman, Wendell Gladstone, Aya Uekawa, Jamea Richmond-Edwards, Stan Narten, James Busby, and Tylonn Sawyer.

Alison Blickle’s feminine dreamscapes invite the viewer into her personal narratives of motherhood, spirituality, and mythological depictions of women. Stan Narten’s meticulously rendered abstractions reference sci-fi and heavy metal from the 1970s and 1980s. Picasso and Matisse are woven through contemporary feminism in Allison Zuckerman’s outrageous hybrid paintings and sculptures. Aya Uekawa’s delicately rendered figures carefully blend her Japanese heritage with the current experiences of women from around the world. Tylonn Sawyer’s dramatic paintings depict the dystopian reality of modern life in America. James Busby’s rich geometric abstractions employ a delicate use of color and line to create intense, high-definition paintings. Asad Faulwell draws from contemporary Middle Eastern history to create complex collaged paintings of political figures and revolutionary women. The androgynous figures in Jamea Richmond-Edwards’ delicately collaged paintings are simultaneously exposed, resilient, and optimistic. Sydney Chastain-Chapman’s vibrant and garish depictions of the awkwardness of daily life are uncovered through her ironic narratives. Wendell Gladstone seamlessly weaves abstraction and figuration into dreamy portraits that mirror themselves.
