Mary Manning “Trees is as good as anything”
Cleopatra's
This event has ended.
Mary Manning is a photographer. Her subjects include dance performances, the plastic partition between street and inside a bodega, trees, lovers, plastic bags. She weaves together the invisible relationships that happen between the visible subjects. For her show Manning was thinking about Alice Notley’s poem, As Good As Anything; particularly the last line where Alice states, “What difference does it make? I like my poems. They’re as good as rocks.”
The exhibition will include seven original posters designed by Joe Gilmore.
