hpgrp GALLERY NEW YORK presents ‘Love & Obsession’, features the works of Japanese artists Tadahiro Gunji and Fantasista Utamaro. From the aesthetics of ancient paintings to high-context Anime culture, they easily cross over the boundaries.

Tadahiro Gunji was born in 1978, and graduated from Tokyo National University of The Arts, Department of Design in 2002. He established a creative collective Posthyphen in 2012, which proposes possibilities of technology and design to clients, and finds a contemporary language that can describe how the world feels now. As a visual artist, he interprets these languages into graphics, motion, interactive and other visual executions. He has moved to New York in early 2017.

Fantasista Utamaro is Brooklyn based Visual Artist / Animation Director / Illustrator / Graphic Designer / Textile Pattern Artist / Art Director. A part of the new generation of entrepreneurial young Japanese artists who’s vision defy boundaries. He brings ultra pop, technicolor sensibilities to every project with explosive energy that is unmistakably his own.
