Jewish Communal Fund & Ernest Rubenstein Galleries

The final event of Lincoln Center’s Boro-Linc Manhattan series, Manny Cantor Center is proud to present a display of work by our Lincoln Center Resident Artist, Cozbi Cabrera. The Lower East Side Community Quilt, on view in the Jewish Communal Fund Gallery (MCC Lobby), is the culminating artwork of a series of inter-generational community quilting workshops with Cozbi that explored personal history, family and community, answering questions like “where do we come from” and “who came before us.”

The Ernest Rubenstein Gallery (M FL) display includes paintings from children’s book, Stitchin’ And Pullin’: A Gees Bend Quilt written by Patricia McKissack and illustrated by Cabrera, as well as a collection of dolls similar to those made by guests during our Spring 2017 Lincoln Center Boro-Linc event series, created as heirlooms for safekeeping for another generation.
