One Shot Two Summers is a series of nearly 60 paintings by Jordan Walczak. Completed over the summers of 2014 & 2015, the varied content depicted in this playful selection ranges from iconic cartoon character to stylized typography. The works’ bold color scheme, punchy phrasing, tight lines and honest imagery leap forward from the consistent gradients and textures of the flat spraypaint backgrounds.The combinations and constructions, especially the juxtaposition of text and images, create particular statements, all of which represent the artist’s preoccupations, from thoughtful concerns to sly provocations.
