This event has ended.

The Kravets Wehby Gallery presents T.N.N., a solo exhibition of new work by Beverly Fishman.

Beverly Fishman’s “The New Normal” (“T.N.N”) is an anxious meditation on the American drug crisis. The paintings form a series of almost sinister shapes that appropriate the forms of various medications, such as Prozac, Vicodin, and Xanax. Fishman’s acutely chromatic work is meticulously crafted from wood and coated in layer upon layer of paint to razor-sharp precision. Fishman manipulates color, line, and light to create streamlined objects. Her seductive abstract geometric forms become as addictive as the pills they mimic.

Beverly Fishman graduated from Yale. She is currently the Artist-in-Residence and Head of Painting at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her work has been exhibited at Jack Shainman Gallery, the CUE Art Foundation, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, and the Detroit Institute of Arts. This will be her first solo exhibition at the Kravets Wehby Gallery.
