This event has ended.
Jane Kim presents an exhibition of Anonymous Tantra paintings at 33 Orchard.
The group of sixteen tantra paintings originate from a private collection, acquired from the late gallerist Hudson of Feature Inc., New York. A few paintings are reproduced in Franck Andre Jamme’s iconic Tantra Song, notably the exquisite Shiva Linga, the cover of the book. Tantrika families in Rajathsan India, who practice the ancient tradition of Tantric Hinduism, made the small works on paper from 1970 to 2008. The geometric forms, stained paper, and vibrant paint colors are given a spiritual life through the practitioner’s deep concentration and devotion of tantra.
