AFA Gallery presents Small Works, a group exhibition of small format work from over thirty dif- ferent artists from around the world. United in their scale, the featured artworks explore the variation in style, con- cept, and technical approach present in contemporary painting, drawing, and sculpture. The pieces that have been created exclusively for the exhibition have maximum dimensions of 16 x 16 x 16 in.

From the meticulous 18th century paintings on ivory to the illuminated manuscripts of the Renaissance, the min- iature is deeply rooted in the history of art. While tech- niques and subject matter have changed over time, the unique impact of the miniature artwork remains the same. The intimate scale of these works draws the viewer clos- er, forcing them to engage personally with the artwork and artist.

The exhibition, curated by Michael J Ruple (Gallery Director), features new works by Michael Alan, Jean-Pierre Arboleda, Sergio Barrale, Casey Baugh, Rick Berry, Troy Brooks, Bill Carman, Sas Chris- tian, Colin Christian, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Sam Wolfe Connelly, Kelly Denato, Rose Freymuth-Frazier, Gris Grimly, Justin Hopkins, Jared Joslin, Jessica Joslin, Robert
LaDuke, Chris Leib, David Lipson, Francis Livingston, Ales- sandra Maria, Pierre Matter, Caitlin T. McCormack, Kathie Olivas, Marc Scheff, Steven Skollar, Pol Turgeon, Hannah Yata, and more.
