Jesse Best “Exodus: The Progression of Escape”
Galerie Protégé
This event has ended.
Paul Calendrillo New York and Galerie Protégé present the work of Pittsburgh artist, Jesse Best. This is Jesse’s first New York solo exhibition with our gallery.
Jesse Best’s work is, on the surface, beautifully executed and exciting. But when interpreted in light of the abstract paintings of Giacomo Balla, Tommaso Marinetti and the Futurists they become highly significant work. They all are masters of setting a two-dimensional painting in motion and focus specifically on forcing the eye to move. No pretty snapshot of a moment in time here. Jesse pushes towards the future with unpredictable interpretations.
He will use acrylic, spray paint, oil and resin on wood panel, and like the Futurists who found no medium beyond their reach including interior decorating, Jesse is a filmmaker and also creates large-scale mixed media.
Jesse lives both in New York and Pittsburgh where and is an award winning painter. He holds degree in fine art and cinema from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.
