This event has ended.

MoMA PS1 presents FORTY, an exhibition celebrating the institution’s fortieth anniversary, organized by PS1’s founder, Alanna Heiss. The exhibition presents work by a group of artists who were critical to the early 1970s alternative art spaces movement, and to the establishment in 1976 of PS1 and its landmark opening show, Rooms.

Comprised of both historical and new works focused on such concerns as installation, site-specificity, and architecture, FORTY seeks to recapture the radical vision and experimental spirit that characterized PS1’s early years.

Organized by Alanna Heiss, Founding Director, MoMA PS1, and Director, Clocktower Productions, with Beatrice Johnson, Associate Curator, Clocktower Productions; and Oliver Shultz, Curatorial Assistant, MoMA PS1.
