This event has ended.

One of Green’s earliest and largest works, the “Double Ring Triptych,” will be a central feature of the exhibition as it demonstrates masterful virtuosity of brushy, expressionist strokes. Shifting away from the crescendo of the “Double Ring Triptych” to an almost all enveloping, pervasive solidity is another feature painting, “Styx and Stones Triptych,” where the blues are noticeably cool with subtle orange and sienna accents, and the surface is smooth and elegant.

Aviva Green graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. The U.S. Embassy has sponsored her one-woman traveling exhibition, including shows at Benjamin Franklin Gallery of the American Embassy in Mexico City and at the Museum of Art of Guadalajara and the Museum of Art of Monterey, Mexico. She has had additional shows at Kenkeleba Gallery in New York City and at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. Green was the Director of the Mather House Art Program at Harvard University (1984 to 1991) and was a university appointed Visiting Artist at Harvard University (1986-1991).
