For her show Apropos Beauty, Susan Goldsmith pursues lush, romantic paintings, unafraid of unleashing her subjects’ sumptuous spirit. In sixteen compositions gilt with gold and hewn smooth with resin, Goldsmith’s ragged branches, persimmon trees, and sprays of eastern redbud reveal the sensibilities of the artist as photographer, painter and jeweler.
