This event has ended.

ODETTA presents Kurt Steger: Scribing the Void, a solo exhibition.

Scribing the Void is a monumental sculpture created by tracing the contour of a boulder found in Central Park, then transferring the form in the same orientation into the space at ODETTA. Steger piques our sense memory relative to the two locations: separated by space, but connected by the scribed line that exists solely to delineate the rock and the void. He poses two questions: “Is there a deep intuition whereby we may perceive the line witnessed in one location, and then recognize that same line upon arriving at the other site?” and “In experiencing the void, can we sense the solidity of the rock?”
