This event has ended.

Usagi NY presents a new exhibition with an immersive experiential installation, IDENTIFY: Reflecting On the Codification of Who by Alana Aviel.

IDENTIFY uses projection map sculpture, performance, poetry, dance and sound to navigate the concept of identity in consideration of four components: the self you feel, the self you project, the self others see, and the self others indicate they perceive.
Seven interactive works, manipulating spatial perception, imagery, words and audio, play with our mental faculties. The collection creates a liminal place to contemplate ideas of self, other, and the confines that are formed from learned behaviors we utilize to distinguish ourselves.

Three Performance events are planned on the following dates March 19th, March 26th and April 2nd at 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm with different guest artists, in conjunction with the exhibition. We will publish the artists list on our SNS and newsletter.

This exhibition was made possible through fiscal support from Fractured Atlas, a non-profit organization that empowers artists, arts organizations, and other cultural sector stakeholders by eliminating practical barriers to artistic expression, so as to foster a more agile and resilient cultural ecosystem.
