This event has ended.

Like fine wine, the women of Downtown 9 grow mellower (and sharper) with vibrancy and energy that belies their age. In their newest artwork at Westbeth Gallery, their palates range from paint to pixel, and clay to collage.

Idell Conaway’s new underwater photographs show the dazzling world of marine life in the
waters of the Philippines. Previously she has exhibited at the Museum of Natural History in New York, and The Philippine Center in N.Y.C.

Photographs by Joan Katz, Ede Rothaus, Shelley Seccombe and Nancy Sirkis illustrate the
diversity and richness of our world, its populations, cities and landscapes.

Diane Hardy Waller (below) works in two mediums: paint and clay. She shows large paintings from her New York series, and whimsical ceramic animals.

Connie Zack’s paintings incorporating collage lend a new perspective and expand the term imaginary landscapes.

Monica Barnes, anthropologist working at the American Museum of Natural History, uses
photography as a tool for documentation as well as expression. She will give a presentation
Archaeological Illustration from the Renaissance to the present on Wednesday, April 20, 6 to 7pm in the gallery, with a reception to follow.
