This event has ended.

“Heaven” connotes a sense of placement or a location that is all pleasure, no existence of pain nor suffering present.
Lorimoto presents the group show “Heavenly Places” showcasing works of four artists that capture the feeling of elevated comfort and sanctity.

Matt James is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn. His abstract paintings resemble outer space photographs from a NASA telescope capturing the endless and outer world notion of the galaxy. James’ work transports the viewers upward beyond the planetary confines .

Kevin Connelly Gliiespie is a South African painter based in NYC. Gillespie combines his awareness for nature and composes images using his background of traditional Tibetan paintings. With “Silver Sky” , viewers are engulfed in the scale this painting possesses. Connelly’s painting suggests a gratifying sense of solitude with the calming qualities of a perpetual motion of the waves.

Jen Hitchings is a Brooklyn based painter , presenting a series of paintings depicting sceneries from a campsite. The bold fluorescent pigments contrasting the quietude of nature captures the euphoric sense of a night in the outdoors . Hitching’s paintings also asserts the bond and warmth surrounding a campfire under a starry night.

Ajit Menon is a Nature Photographer who captures his images on expeditions he engages to remote areas of the world. The photographs presented here were taken in Norway and Iceland . In each photo, the beauty of each scenery magically removes the notion of a harsh arctic climate of the actual environment, leaving the viewers in absolute awe for the magnificent works of nature.
