Lisa Cooley presents a solo exhibition by Polish artist Honza Zamojski. Displayed in the gallery’s office, the exhibition consists of a single artwork, Conflict (2016), a 1 minute and 13 second long video of an animated poem. The work evolved from and expands upon Zamojski’s drawing practice. Each piece of text that appears on screen has been hand-drawn repeatedly and then animated. By creating a link between drawing and animation, Zamojski has begun to develop the narrative potential latent in his drawings. Conflict functions much like a poetic prototype for the sort of storytelling that might transpire if the figures in his drawings were given life through animation.
