This event has ended.

This year Armstrong has had one person shows at Gross McCleaf Gallery in Philadelphia, and at The Oxbow Gallery, Northampton,Massachusetts. She has been in group shows with Seven On Site in Pennsylvania and in Ireland, with Dialoghi Dell’Arte in Guilin, China, and in Florence, Italy, and in summer group show At Gross McCleaf, The Oxbow and at Warm Springs Gallery, Virginia

In the catalog for a two person show in 2014 at the Blanden Art Museum in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Director Margaret Skove wrote,” Armstrong’s style is abstraction with recognizable realism equivalency, so the term “abstracted realism” indicates that this is not a likeness, it is a form, color, and light reinterpretation of an experienced landscape.”

Armstrong has written,” If you think about American Literature the landscape is as important as the people, from Willa Cather, Hemingway, and John Steinbeck to Wallace Stegner, Norman Maclean, and Marilynne Robinson…not as a metaphor for something else but as something we are part of.”
