CECILY FIRESTEIN:
In her 9th decade and still a working artist, Cecily Barth Firestein will be exhibiting large scale works combining printmaking, painting and collage. Quirky and accomplished, these multidimensional artworks work on several levels. There’s a lush background layer created with monotype printing overlaid with tempera paint. On top of that Ms. Firestein creates a narrative collage of figures and animals engaged in activities that animates the surface. The result is a unique and odd scene with hints of surrealism which keeps rewarding the viewer the longer you look.

PAMELA FLYNN:
Darkness is not just for night. Darkness can envelop the being and obscure the light. These images are about the light that is obscured by the darkness. They are about the inner light that nurtures and allows for growth-spiritual and actual. Our world is filled with the struggle between the light and the dark-these works are about the balance-the balance that is night and day.

LAURA WESTBY:
These genuine qualities shine innately from within her mostly Abstract paintings. Her decisive yet delicate color palette and direct compositions evoke those peripheral American places that are somehow everywhere and nowhere but reassuringly familiar. The ordinary places that peacefully stir with an atmosphere that might remind us we’re homeward bound. Her paint application possesses physical grace and a poetic gentleness.
