Park Dae-Sung creates modern interpretations of Korean ink-and-wash paintings. His bold and innovative brushwork is rooted in the theory and practice of calligraphy, as well as a personal aesthetic philosophy of “muk” (묵), which he sees as the motivating spirit of “nature,” “energy,” “ink,” and “light” in his life and paintings.
