In the Paper Landscape series the opposing mediums of oil paint and charcoal meet.On Arches “oil” paper, oil paint behaves differently than on canvas. It yields flat, velvety planes of color that complement the richly dark lines and textures of charcoal. This series of drawings maintains the sculptural geometry of Cohen’s paintings.
