Paul Kolker presents String Theory…Up Close! at the PAUL KOLKER collection.The exhibition is based on Kolker’s curation and production of his art as an experiment testing perception. It is the natural segue from the art historical perspective of other artists who used their works as an experiment; as Marcel Duchamp did in his Three Standard Stoppages, 1914, in which strings are glued onto canvases. In his instant experiment, Kolker has painted jute strings and glued them onto canvas as depicted above in the installation view of cordes en collages… or ‘all strings attached’, 2015. This is the fiftieth of solo exhibitions which the artist has curated.
