This event has ended.

Wonhee Noh creates very delicate abstract paintings with the mixed media application of traditional Korean ink and acrylic paint through the use of Korean paper, Hanji. The Hanji is folded after the ink and traditional Korean ink, Hobun has been applied and absorbed. Noh then makes spray spots with water. The effect of the water with the color blue come out in between the layers of attached and additional Hanji to create mysterious illusions which evoke the sky and ocean.

As Wonhee Noh emphasizes the harmony and balance in our life through her paintings, New York based critic, Mary Gregory said that WonHee Noh, in this striking series of works, uses natural materials and methods to convey a sense of natural harmony. We all know that the earth, seen from space, is blue. Blue Fantasia is WonHee Noh’s response to our world where she focuses on beauty and harmony through delicate, peaceful compositions.
