GOING BIG, opening in OffLINE at CENTRAL BOOKING, is an exciting exhibition comprised of works by 111 artists from throughout the United States. Having met and become familiar with one another’s work via social media, these artists have formed a community rich in dialogue, encouragement and mutual support.
Susan Carr of Massachusetts, and Suzan Shutan of Connecticut seized upon an opportunity to turn this virtual group into a physical gallery exhibition and collaborated to co-curate GOING BIG. In the 1950s and 60s New York artists like Jackson Pollock, Willem De Kooning, Joan Mitchell and others would meet at the Cedar Bar to share and debate their ideas. Now in our global art world there are opportunities to connect with artists all over the planet.
