This event has ended.

Alexander Gray Associates presents an exhibition featuring Coco Fusco’s videos representative of her artistic development over 20 years. Through the run of the exhibition, early videos such as The Couple in the Cage (1993), as well newly created work, such as
La confesión (2015)—originally created for the exhibition All the World’s Futures, 56th Venice Biennale— will be screened at the Gallery.
The exhibition will be accompanied by the video installation Dolores from 10 to 10 (2002), on display throughout the Gallery, and a new work featuring confidential Cuban government documents that speak to intellectual censorship from the archives of historian Lillian Guerra.

Fusco’s work explores the politics of gender, race, war, and identity. Working in a variety of formats, she has staged multi-media productions incorporating large-scale projections, closed-circuit television, web-based live streaming performances with audience interaction, as well as performances that actively engage with the audience.
