This event has ended.

The Galerie St. Etienne presents the first American exhibition in 32 years of the German painter Paula Modersohn-Becker (1876-1907). Modersohn-Becker, who died following childbirth at the age of 31, is one of Germany’s first modern artists. Most of her work is housed in German museums (including a dedicated institution in her native Bremen) and rarely shown in the United States. PAULA MODERSOHN-BECKER: Art & Life, which runs from November 3 through March 12, includes 33 paintings and drawings plus the artist’s complete prints. Also included is a small selection of works by her husband, Otto Modersohn, and her etching teacher, Heinrich Vogeler.
