Paper Islands explores the intimate world of imaginary plants, speculating about their relationships, ecosystems, bodily systems, and evolution through several large sculptural “islands.” Upon entering the gallery, viewers will cross the threshold into a lush, invented ecosystem created from colorful painted papier-mâché landscapes mounded on shore-like platforms dispersed throughout the gallery space.
