“Cardinal Points” Exhibition
Ca’ d’Oro Gallery
This event has ended.
The past, with it’s relentless and indifferent passage of time; the search for that which is lost and the urge for new experiences, even at the risk of uncertainty, is what gives form to human sensibility within the vast possibilities of art.
Cardinal Points is an intriguing group show curated by noted analysts Vicky Romay and Frances Sinkowitsch. A synthesis of the vision of four Cuban artists on wide-ranging themes that arch from the confrontational to cool detachment. Expressed in media as varied as painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture and collage. The themes of memories, loss, and discovery spoke side-by-side in four very different voices: crumpled paper becomes metaphor; familiar discards evoque longing with an intimate scale; playful objects betray conflict; color and landscape seduce and delight. These are the perspectives which Geandy Pavón, Esteban Blanco, Antonio Núñez and Jose Ney bring to the Galleria Ca’ d’Oro New York.
