This event has ended.

Studio Vendome will present the first-ever exhibition of Lin Evola’s Peace Angels Project.

Founded in 1992 by American contemporary artist, Lin Evola, the Peace Angels Project serves as a reminder of the worldwide epidemic of violence and our responsibility as humans to create a better world, a narrative that has never been more prevalent. For the collection, Evola has used melted down stainless metal of decommissioned missiles to create powerful images of peace and unity.

In 2013, Evola gifted the National September 11 Memorial & Museum with the Renaissance Peace Angel, a sculpture that stood 13’ tall on Canal Street shortly after the World Trade Center tragedy – serving as a symbol of hope for those affected.

In her first-ever exhibit for the Peace Angels Project, Evola will showcase 13 sculptures, in addition to 21 32” x 24” water colored peace signs, composed with decommissioned nuclear stainless ink. Furthermore, Evola will unveil the Reflection Peace Series, a technical breakthrough whereby decommissioned weapons are melted down to the molecular level, allowing viewers to see their own reflection – a contribution to self-awareness that we are in charge of peace or its absence.

Evola is also calling on the Tri-State area, East Coast and the United Nations in the collection of one million decommissioned weapons for the construction of a New York City Peace Angel monument. In November 2015, Evola presented an identical project to the Los Angeles City Council, championed by Councilman Paul Koretz and Councilman Bob Blumenfield.

“As our world continues to be faced with horrific acts against humanity, the Peace Angel Project mission has never been more important,” said Evola. “As we move into the holiday season, it is my hope that this artwork will serve as an inspiration to tap into the best of the human condition, by rising above violence and standing for peace.”

In 1992, Lin Evola founded the Peace Angels Project to address the epidemic of violence by reminding us of the responsibilities we all share to create a better world. As an American contemporary Artist, Evola created the Peace Angels Project as a conceptual work of art to engage thought that is meant to stir us - to awaken us to rise up and build a life affirming legacy of Peace in our time. The concept that develops into Peace Angel monuments forwards a legacy of peace to our children and future generations.
