We are Here is a collection of art works by a group of young artists who attend the Streetwork Project. Streetwork is a program of Safe Horizon’s youth division that provides crisis support and shelter for runaway and homeless youth in NYC. In 2014, Streetwork’s 30th year of operation, a group of youth worked together with Streetwork staff members and photographer Nicola Bailey to experiment with light, exposure, and paint. These art works portray a glimpse into a story of voice and presence in a world where youth who are struggling with homelessness are too often unseen and unheard.
