This event has ended.

“Whether I’m combining clay with 3-D printing or trying to mash Postmodernism and Mystery together into some sort of new theology, I always seem to be sparking opposites off one another: Seeing what happens next provides endless fun. I use the figure to engage us in the investigation, and because I find it an ever-challenging form at multiple levels — formal/physical, art-historical, psychological.”

Bob Clyatt grew up roaming the countryside of Northern California, ending up studying art at UC Berkeley. Absorbing those many influences created enduring patterns of fusion in Bob’s work - ancient and contemporary, organic and technological.

During the 1990s Bob focused on business innovation founding two firms sold to public companies including i/o 360, an early Manhattan-based human-machine interaction design firm. He then returned to creating studio art with 8 years intensive study of sculpture, centering on his years at the Art Students League of New York under the guidance of Barney Hodes. Bob has degrees from U.C. Berkeley and MIT, and lived in Europe and Asia for 5 years. He lives and has his studio in Rye, NY.
