This event has ended.

“Art Served Up Trenton Style” – an exhibition featuring work by the Trenton Artists Workshop Association and the SAGE Coalition — opens at the Prince Street Gallery. The exhibition includes 24 artists from two arts organizations important to New Jersey’s capital city and demonstrates a mixture of backgrounds, approaches, and traditions.

The Trenton Artists Workshop has a 30 year history of exhibiting in venues such as the New Jersey State Museum, Trenton City Museum, Artworks as well as producing the ground breaking Eyes on Trenton festival, an artists exchange with the Soviet Union, and the launching of important city arts initiatives and programs.

SAGE is a younger organization made up of street writers and artists who have launched the city’s “Windows of Souls,” a city-beautification program that uses mural and graffiti art to bring life to abandoned buildings and streets, and organizes the annual “Jersey Jam,” one of the largest graffiti projects on the East Coast.

Included in the New York exhibition are works by several prominent Trenton artists including Mel Leipzig, Aubrey J. Kauffman and Will Kasso.

The exhibition was coordinated by regional award-winning artists Liz Aubrey and Leon Rainbow.
