Family Stories: introspective, narrative, personal stories told through image, word, and gesture. By manipulating the stories into visuals, details change; stories grow stronger and more true. Some sculptures here are bodies with words, some are ‘pages,’ some are simply figures. Brody’s first book in 1997 told the stories of her generations in a familiar book-like sculpture. She continues to combine figures and words illuminating relationships just as she combines figures in gestural illustrations of relationships. ”
